Solicitor or Equivalent (Clinical Negligence Grade C - Birmingham)
Join Fletchers Group to take on the role of a Grade C Clinical Negligence Solicitor. This position is based in Birmingham with hybrid working available.
We are looking for an experienced clinician negligence solicitor ready to step into a supportive, dynamic team. As a Grade C Solicitor you will support senior lawyers in managing a diverse caseload of clinical negligence cases from initiation through to trial, whilst mentoring junior staff. The role involves both pre‑ and post‑litigation work in an environment that prioritises client care, commercial outcomes and professional development.

Key Responsibilities
* Run an individual caseload of clinical negligence matters
* Provide support, guidance and assistance to the team in delivering outstanding client service
* Contribute to proactive and commercial case management across the team
* Support the Team Leader/Head of Department in achieving financial and performance KPI targets
* Record time accurately and transparently
* Discuss and agree case tactics and planning with senior leadership
* Drive cases towards settlement, letter of claim, and other appropriate outcomes
* Draft legal documentation including letters of claim, instructions and settlements
* Negotiate settlements and manage the issuance and service of proceedings as required
* Oversee documentation and correspondence produced by the team
* Advise on technical issues arising from cases with support from senior leadership
Ideal Candidate
* Recent experience managing clinical negligence caseloads
* At least NQ‑5 years PQE or equivalent experience in clinical negligence
* Excellent organisational, time‑management and client‑care skills
* Strong drafting and communication ability
* Proficient in Microsoft Office, Proclaim and Excel
* Detail oriented with commercial awareness
* Ability to mentor junior team members
* Flexible, willing to meet deadlines and achieve results
