Chalk Hill Academy – Residential Team Leader
Location: Chalk Hill, Sudbury, Suffolk CO10 2SF (site relocation to Bury St Edmunds Spring 2027)
Salary: £27,669 – £30,865 per annum (£32,598 – £36,363 pro rata)
Hours: 37 hours per week, 39 weeks per year
Contract: Permanent, required as soon as possible

Responsibilities
* Lead high‑quality residential provision in line with Ofsted National Minimum Standards.
* Oversee daily operations, lead shifts and maintain consistently high standards of practice, routines and student support.
* As Designated Safeguarding Lead, champion student wellbeing and respond to safeguarding concerns and incidents in accordance with statutory guidance.
* Supervise, mentor and develop Residential Activities and Child Care Officers (RACCOs) ensuring care plans, risk assessments and progress records are robust, current and reflective of individual needs.
* Contribute to inspections and drive continuous improvement across residential provision.
* Work closely with the Head of Residential, colleagues, families and external agencies.
Qualifications & Experience
* Proof of relevant experience providing residential support or equivalent.
* Strong leadership, collaboration and communication skills.
* Knowledge of safeguarding, risk assessment and statutory guidance.
* Ability to mentor staff and manage a diverse residential team.
