The Clinical Director will be accountable to the Divisional Director for the operational performance of the Clinical Directorate. This is a key operational role within the Division and the post holder will lead the Clinical Directorate and will be accountable for ensuring services are patient focused and for achieving national and local targets and standards.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will provide visible leadership to all staff within the Clinical Directorate and support the Divisional Director in delivering the strategic plan for the Division.
The post holder will work with the Divisional Director to ensure the Clinical Directorate meets its requiredobjectives.
The Clinical Director will lead a Directorate triumvirate comprising the CD, Directorate Manager and Directorate Matrons. The post will be further supported by a Deputy Clinical Director. This team will deliver on the Directorate priorities in conjunction with respective Clinical Leads, Service Managers, Nursing, Administration, and Allied Health Professional colleagues.
The post holder will work with the Divisional Medical Director, Deputy Divisional Medical Director to help deliver high quality patient care and a strong culture of safety, quality improvement and Clinical Governance with the Directorate.
The Clinical Director is responsible and accountable to the Divisional Director for managing the clinical, operational, and financial performance of the Clinical Directorate. The Clinical Director will be responsible for delivering excellent performance against key quality standards and targets and for taking corrective action when required.
