Graduate Geotechnical Engineer
Location: Inverness, Scotland
Salary: GBP28,000 : GBP30,000
An opportunity has opened for a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer to join a growing engineering consultancy based in Inverness, working on a wide range of infrastructure and renewable energy projects across the Highlands.
This role would suit a recent graduate looking to build a career in geotechnical engineering, with strong support, hands:on experience, and exposure to major renewable developments including wind farms, hydro schemes, and grid infrastructure.
The Role
As a Graduate Geotechnical Engineer, youll be involved in both site and office:based work, supporting the delivery of geotechnical and ground investigation projects.
Typical responsibilities include:
* Assisting with the planning and supervision of ground investigations
* Logging soil and rock in accordance with relevant standards
* Supporting geotechnical design and analysis
* Preparing factual and interpretive reports
* Carrying out site visits across renewable energy project locations
* Working closely with senior engineers to develop technical skills
Projects
Youll gain exposure to a strong pipeline of renewables:focused work, including:
* Wind farm developments
* Hydroelectric schemes
* Energy infrastructure and grid connections
* Infrastructure and access roads in challenging ground conditions
Requirements
* Degree in Geology, Geotechnical Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field
* Strong interest in ground engineering and renewables
* Willingness to work outdoors and travel to sites
* Good communication and report writing skills
* Full UK driving licence (or working towards it)
