HR Advisor

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive HR Advisor to join our People & OD team at Countess of Chester Hospital NHS Foundation Trust. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced HR professional to provide high-quality, specialist HR advice and support to managers across the Trust, promoting fair, consistent and legally compliant employment practice.
Main duties of the job
* Provide practical, professional HR advice to managers on employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, capability, attendance management and resourcing issues.
* Support managers with investigations, hearings and meetings, including complex and sensitive cases.
* Act as a trusted advisor, guiding managers on Trust HR policies, employment law and best practice.
* Proactively support absence management, analysing data and advising on plans to improve attendance.
* Contribute to the development, review and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
* Support organisational change and redeployment processes, ensuring an inclusive and consultative approach.
* Deliver HR skills training and workshops for managers, alongside HR Business Partners.
* Work in partnership with trade unions and staff representatives where appropriate.
* Contribute to HR projects aligned to the Trust's People Strategy.
* Deputise for senior HR colleagues when required.

Qualifications
* CIPD qualified, degree or equivalent experience.
Knowledge
* Demonstrate a range of HR advisory experience in a medium-sized organisation.
* Experience in investigating and advising in cases at disciplinary and other hearings/panels.
* Experience delivering training to managers at all levels.
* Detailed working knowledge of employment law and practice.
