As a Banking Supervisor, you will support the day-to-day banking operations of Sunbelt Rentals UK, ensuring accurate and timely processing of payments and maintaining strong internal controls. This role is ideal for someone with a solid foundation in finance who is ready to take ownership of banking processes and assist in developing junior team members, including an apprentice.
1. Process and review daily banking transactions, including BACS, CHAPS, and international payments.
2. Set up manual and bulk payment requests.
3. Maintain banking mandates and user access controls.
4. Support and guide the finance apprentice with banking tasks.
5. Liaise with internal teams and external banking partners to resolve payment queries.
6. Assist with fraud prevention processes and manage chargebacks or disputed transactions.
7. Complete monthly balance sheet reconciliations for bank accounts.
8. Post banking-related month-end journals accurately and on time.
9. Ensure all transactions are recorded correctly in the finance system.
10. Provide documentation and support for internal and external audits.

* Experience with ERP systems and online banking portals, AAT qualification or working towards a finance-related qualification.
* Previous experience supporting or mentoring junior colleagues is a plus.
* Knowledge of the equipment rental or construction industry is beneficial.
