Job Title : Biomedical Biochemistry Scientist Banding: Band 5 Locat io n: Yorkshire, West Yorkshire Start date: ASAP Duration: 3 – 6 months Rate : £ 20 - £ 26 per hour Working hours: Mondays to Friday, weekends An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Band 5 Biomedical Biochemistry Scientist to join a dynamic and forward-thinking laboratory team based in Yorkshire. This role is ideal for a motivated and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in clinical biochemistry. The successful candidate will contribute to the delivery of high-quality diagnostic services, supporting the care and treatment of the client’s patients through accurate and timely biochemical analysis. What will your responsibilities be : The Biomedical Biochemistry Scientist will be responsible for performing a wide range of biochemical tests and analyses using advanced laboratory equipment and techniques. Duties include operating and maintaining Abbott AMS middleware systems, conducting Xanthochromia testing, and utilising the Advanced Instruments Osmometer. The role involves ensuring compliance with laboratory protocols, maintaining accurate records, participating in quality assurance programmes, and collaborating with multidisciplinary teams to support patient care. A commitment to continuous professional development and adherence to health and safety standards is essential. Qualifications and Experiences: HCPC registration as a Biomedical Scientist BSc (Hons) in Biomedical Science or equivalent qualification Proven experience in a clinical biochemistry laboratory Proficiency in using Abbott AMS middleware Competence in Xanthochromia testing procedures Experience with Advanced Instruments Osmometer Strong understanding of laboratory quality control and assurance practices Excellent communication and teamwork skills Ability to work independently and manage time effectively How to apply?
