We are seeking a Community Nursing Sister/Qualified District Nurse to work within our integrated Primary Care Hub, which covers the Bedford in Bedfordshire. Time : 09:00 am – 16:00 pm (Come prepared to be interviewed on the day)

Morning registration: 9:00 AM -10:00 AM

Morning Interview : 10 am - 12:30 pm

Afternoon registration: 12:30 - 13:00pm

Afternoon Interview : 13:00- 16:00 pm

The event is an all day event. Candidates need to register for either the morning session / the afternoon session.

Main duties of the job

We are looking for someone who is dynamic and motivated and has the confidence to support, coach and develop individuals to deliver consistently high quality services. You will also be required to manage your own caseload, which will be aligned to the residential homes within the area. Excellent communication and time management skills, and sound clinical knowledge, is essential. A flexible approach is required to accommodate the changing needs of the service along with the drive to influence service development.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

You must have a driving license and have access to a vehicle in order to carry out your duties. You will be required to work a shift pattern covering 7 days a week 08:00-16:00 or 13:00-21:00. The post is 30 hours per week.

Person specification

Education

Essential criteria

1. Registered General Nurse
2. Demonstrate evidence-based practice and up-to-date clinical skills
3. Evidence of significant post registration nursing experience including community setting
4. Post-registration qualification in a relevant clinical field
5. Relevant teaching/mentorship qualification and evidence of teaching skills.
6. Post-registration nursing experience, including community experience

Desirable criteria

7. Specialist Practitioner Qualification
8. Nurse Prescriber

Other

Essential criteria

9. Current driving licence
10. Ability to travel across sites and across Bedfordshire to meet patient needs and attend meetings, etc

Experience

Essential criteria

11. Evidence of and commitment to multi-professional working
12. Understanding of the interface between primary and secondary care
13. Comprehensive understanding of partnership working
14. Ability to manage a caseload

Knowledge

Essential criteria

15. Literate in IT/Computer Skills
16. Knowledge of the principles of Safeguarding of Vulnerable Adults and Children
17. Knowledge of the principles of health promotion and prevention of illness
18. Good oral communication skills based on fluency on the English language

Desirable criteria

19. Demonstrate an understanding of national government initiatives in health & social care & how they impact on local services
