Night Shift Maintenance Engineer Coppice is a market-leading and international supplier of aluminium food packaging, renowned for innovation, quality and service. Working as part of the Engineering and Maintenance Team you will be responsible for first line fault finding, maintenance, repair and basic setting of a variety of mechanical presses, auto stacking machines as well as associated plant and equipment. Specific Role Responsibilities As a Mechanical Maintenance Engineer, you will: Carry out Fault Finding and Diagnosis of machinery and equipment breakdowns, predominantly mechanical/pneumatic but with understanding of possible electrical faults. Operate with a focus on providing high levels of service and response times. Undertake Preventive Maintenance work to specified standards and procedures and maintain records as applicable. Undertake machinery / equipment repairs and upgrades. Machine and fabricate components for both repair and improvement projects with the ability to measure and draw when no drawings are available. Assist in site maintenance and general factory repair. Maintain written records of all breakdowns and repairs allowing for analysis and compliance with ISO 9000 standards. Liaise with internal and external personnel to specify necessary parts and equipment to complete required activities. Work from schedules and production plans to ensure maintenance and production targets are identified and achieved. Ensure and maintain a safe working environment by adherence to HSE requirements. Complete Hazard Tags where required. Support continuous improvement activities and initiatives. Ensure housekeeping within work area is maintained at the highest-level ensuring adherence to BRC accreditation and standards at all times. Act as a valuable member of the Engineering Team, able to offer informative input to all Engineering / Production Improvement / Continuous Improvement and Cost Down Activities. To carry out or assist with any duties as deemed necessary in connection with the business. Essential Knowledge & Qualifications: Fully Qualified Mechanical fitter/toolmaker. Understanding of H&S requirements and key principles. Ability to machine, fabricate and hand fit mechanical parts. Practical working experience in a maintenance environment using both Mechanical and machining skills. Knowledge of Mechanical components, Pneumatics circuits etc.; Ability to swap out Pneumatic components; Mechanical install of motor and gear boxes etc. Understanding of power press and associated regulations. Experience: Able to read and interpret documents such as Safety Rules, Operating instructions. Good communication skills. Manufacturing environment background. Experience in repetitive production and willing to innovate and increase output with production efficiency, machine OEE, customer satisfaction and quality as the main focus. Capabilities: Able to work as part of a team. Flexible approach in order to meet business and departmental requirements. Excellent time management skills. Able to work on own initiative and manage own priorities and time constraints. Pay: £42,978 per Annum Schedule: 10pm to 6am
