Job Summary
At Bottisham Pharmacy, we are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Pharmacy Dispenser to join our friendly team. Much like the gears of a well-oiled machine, every member of our team plays a vital role in ensuring the safe, accurate, and efficient supply of medication to our patients. The successful candidate will be instrumental in preparing and dispensing medications, making up dosette boxes for patients who need additional support, and providing excellent service at the pharmacy counter. This position requires a strong commitment to patient care, attention to detail, and the ability to work closely with colleagues to deliver the highest standards of service.
Responsibilities
* Accurately dispense medications according to prescriptions, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
* Prepare and check dosette boxes for patients, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and safety.
* Serve patients at the pharmacy counter with professionalism, empathy, and clear communication.
* Provide helpful advice to patients about their medications, side effects, and correct usage.
* Maintain accurate records and safeguard patient confidentiality at all times.
* Monitor and manage stock levels, ensuring the pharmacy remains well-organised and medicines are in date.
* Collaborate effectively with the wider pharmacy team and healthcare professionals to support patient wellbeing.
* Engage in ongoing professional development and training to stay updated with pharmacy practices and services.
Skills & Attributes
* Previous experience as a pharmacy dispenser or technician is highly desirable.
* Strong knowledge of pharmaceutical terminology and dispensing processes.
* Excellent communication and patient care skills, with the ability to build trust and reassurance.
* A meticulous eye for detail, with the ability to stay accurate even under pressure.
* Organisational skills to manage multiple responsibilities in a busy environment.
* A strong team player – like links in a chain, working together ensures we provide seamless patient care.
