We are working for a leading UK Managed Services provider to recruit a Senior Commercial Manager to work on public sector contracts, split between home working and an office in thr Rotherham area The Commercial Manager will be responsible for driving commercial delivery and winning profitable work, ensuring compliance with Company and commercial policies and standards, through analysis of customer requirements, development of cost models, sourcing cost data and prices and risk analysis Main responsibilities Delivery Best practice - follow commercial and pricing best practices Risk and opportunities - ensure all commercial risks and opportunities are understood and evaluated so that they are considered and understood for inclusion in the tender Profit checks - ensure models deliver OH&P to agreed and approved levels Governance - formally comply with internal governance process and clearly communicate financial/commercial issues to all stakeholders Development Competitor analysis - use information available to understand the market and ensure the business are competitive Benchmarking - assesses what has been paid previously for the same or similar items and uses that information to determine a comparable cost. Library - contribute to database of tenders for historical data and average rates Feedback - review submission feedback to ensure continuous improvement on future submission Submission Lead Commercial Pricing activity on projects to review documents to ensure pricing and commercial position is established and risk mitigation solution is clearly developed Tender requirements - understand all commercial aspects of Client financial submission and specifications Cost analysis - breaking down the cost of product elements for data driven decision making Model development - prepare detailed models to allow supply chain partners to price works accurately Tender accuracy - stress test solution and documents to ensure accuracy Transfer - provide handover from tender submission to mobilisation and operational delivery Candidate requirements Experience of pricing one or more of the business streams in Public Services Commercial awareness and strong cost modelling skills Ability to write comprehensive reports Excellent spreadsheet skills Ability to work openly and collaboratively at all levels Attention to detail Recognised construction based higher education qualification or Accountancy qualification (incl part qualified) Experience in a pricing role
