1-1 Tutor (Part or Full Time, Temporary)
Stockton on Tees
£25 - £31 per hour (salary is depending on experience and/or qualifications)
Start date: September 2026
The School and Role
The LA are looking for an experienced teacher to provide face to face tuition to students who are out of a mainstream setting.
The desired Tutor will be working 1:1 with a student with Special Education Needs and Disabilities (SEND)
The Tutor role is long term to provide consistency for the student and work towards breaking down barriers to learning and to give the student the confidence to reach their full potential.
Requirements
To be considered for the role of 1-2-1 Tutor you will have:
1. Enhanced DBS (we can help obtain this at cost if needed)
2. Teach and support learners in core subjects, adapting lessons to suit different abilities.
3. Plan and prepare lessons that support both academic and practical development.
4. Monitor and record student progress.
5. Encourage participation, confidence, and personal development among learners.
6. The ideal candidate will have experience teaching or tutoring
7. The ability to teach at GCSE or Functional Skills level
8. A recognised teaching, coaching, or tutoring qualification (or relevant experience)
9. Strong communication and motivational skills.
10. A supportive and adaptable approach to working with learners.
