The Role & Key Responsibilities
Gatwick CID are seeking a Specialist Case Worker (Evidence & Disclosure) to join their team.
Status - Full Time.
The role is based at Gatwick Police Station and you will report directly to the CID Detective Sergeant who will task you with various file building tasks for the teams investigations whether that be pre or post-charge.
Skills & Experience
Essential criteria are those that are critical for the satisfactory performance of the role. It is expected that all applicants meet the essential criteria to be eligible for appointment
* possess a strong working knowledge and practical experience of the application of CPIA, MOPI, data protection and the legal requirements of disclosure.
* High standard of computer literacy in order to become proficient in specialist systems essential for the role. Be able to create charts and macros within excel and word documents.
* Critical decision making and accuracy is vital with good attention to detail.
* Proven experience in collating and assessing information and making concise and accurate decisions.
* Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, written and oral, with ability to negotiate
* Work effectively as part of a team and also able to work effectively on own initiative.
* Able to demonstrate good organisational, planning and time management skills
* Previous experience of working in a security conscious environment with confidential material. Understanding of handling and movement of such documents and able to recognise and deal appropriately with sensitive information.
Desirable criteria are those that enhance the person’s capacity to do the role. These are not generally listed as essential as they can be acquired once in employment.
* Training on Sussex force systems such as NICHE
* understanding of multi-agency working
Have experience of complex case build and preparation.
