About the team


Are you a compliance expert who can deliver practical and clear guidance to business areas to support business innovation and regulatory change?

Do you have sound regulatory knowledge across retail banking products, to assist the implementation of regulated policies and procedures?


What you will be doing?


As a Compliance Lead, you will provide guidance to business areas on regulatory compliance matters, ensuring adherence to relevant UK regulatory standards whilst championing the customer during change implementation and process improvement.

Your responsibilities will also include:

* Provide guidance to business areas on regulatory and compliance matters, ensuring clear interpretation and application of regulatory requirements.
* Monitor and assess emerging regulatory developments, ensuring the business is aware of potential impacts. Assist with drafting and communicating updates on regulatory changes, providing insight on key areas of interest.
* Support the business with reviewing and updating policies to ensure alignment with regulatory requirements and the Group's risk appetite. Provide advice on the development and application of compliance frameworks across the business with respect to regulatory and conduct risk.
* Engage in business change initiatives and transformation projects, ensuring compliance risks are identified and mitigated early in the process.
* Support the preparation and submission of regulatory reports and notifications and ensure timely escalation of any compliance issues, incidents or breaches.

Do you have the skills?


We are looking for talented individuals who have the experience and knowledge set out below:

* Previous experience in retail banking and an understanding of retail products and services is essential for this role.
* Prior experience in a compliance or risk role within the financial service industry is needed.
* Detailed working and practical knowledge of the regulatory environment affecting the financial services industry is essential.
* Ability to clearly explain complex issues to other departments/ stakeholders is essential.
* Formal professional compliance and/or risk management related qualifications are desirable.
