Alliance PsychologicalServices is an independent provider of counselling and psychological therapyservices based in the Tees Valley area and working across the North-Eastregion.

We are currently recruiting for a qualified HICBT Therapist. Full or part time will be considered.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of an innovativeservice providing high intensity interventions in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy(CBT), working with adults aged 16+ within the NHS Talking Therapies servicefor Teesside, which is part of the Impact on Teesside service.


Main duties of the job

The post holders will hold an IAPT / NHS TT recognisedqualification in HI CBT, be enthusiastic, hardworking, and able to work withina supportive, performance-focused service in order to deliver high-quality psychologicaltherapy within an NHS Talking Therapies framework.

We offer a range of ways for people to access our servicesincluding face-to-face appointments across the Teesside area. We are seekingcandidates who are able to offer face-to-face appointments but are also able toconsider an element of online service delivery in line with patient and serviceneeds.

The successful applicant will be employed by AlliancePsychological Services working within the Impact on Teesside service, which isa partnership between Alliance Psychological Services and Teesside Mind.

Job responsibilities

The Post holder will provide a range of evidence-based psychological interventions within the framework of the Talking Therapies for Anxiety and Depression (TTAD) Programme as part of Impact's Primary Care Service across the Tees Valley area.

They will work as part of Impact's Team serving GP practices across the Tees Valley area. They will hold a recognised qualification in HI CBT and be accredited with the BABCP. They may also offer other High Intensity therapies including IPT, MBCBT and EMDR.

This position may require flexible hours between 8am and 8pm weekdays.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

To work as a member of the Impact PWT service team

* To create and maintain effective working relationships within the TTAD team and elsewhere
* To offer advice and support to other members of the wider Primary Care Team including GPs and other Health Professionals, on mental health issues and in relation to appropriate referral pathways for patients with mental health needs
* To liaise effectively with Secondary Care and voluntary sector organisations and services
* To attend meetings and provide reports as required
* To assist in the development and promotion of the service

To provide a range of therapeutic interventions

* To provide assessments including risk assessment, of clients referred for psychological therapy within the primary care setting.
* To select and deliver a range of clinically appropriate therapeutic interventions in collaboration with the client.
* To work within an appropriate time framework
* To make appropriate onward referrals following assessment for clients requiring other services including statutory and voluntary agencies.
* To maintain client confidentiality within agreed guidelines

Safeguarding

* Responsible for safeguarding children and vulnerable adults by always promoting the welfare of service users and operating within local policies and procedures.
* Under guidance and support taking appropriate safeguarding action to protect children and vulnerable adults at risk of significant harm.
* Under guidance and supervision to identify and support families in accessing Early Help Services
* To share information where appropriate with other agencies, informed by the services Confidentiality and Information sharing protocols.

To provide a professional and ethical service

* To maintain appropriate records including all required assessment and evaluation tools
* To maintain appropriate clinical registration(s) and abide by the ethical code of registration body
* To undertake relevant Continuing Professional Development activities as required for the purposes of continued professional accreditation or registration and as identified through Impact's Professional Development and Appraisal System
* To undertake an appropriate amount of clinical supervision from a qualified Clinical Supervisor within Impact's Supervision Programme
* To operate within agreed NHS, Impact and professional guidelines and Codes of Practice
* To ensure a safe and secure working environment for self and others and to act as necessary within Health and Safety and other guidelines.
* To adhere to all Impact and Alliance Policies, Procedures and Guidelines
* To promote and value the rights, responsibilities and diversity of people using the Service.

* Skills in assessment, formulation, and treatment of a range of psychological presentations
* Skills in developing and implementing focused, time limited treatment plans.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills
* Good understanding of issues surrounding clinical risk
* Able to develop good therapeutic relationships with clients.
* High level of motivation
* Advanced communication skills

Experience

* Experience of working in a mental healthcare setting
* Ongoing clinical supervision of therapeutic work.
* Up to date knowledge of therapeutic approach to be practised.
* Awareness of a range of therapeutic approaches.
* Ability to meet agreed or specified service targets.
* Ability to manage own caseload and time.
* Demonstrates high standards in written communication.
* Able to write clear reports and letters to referrers.
* Demonstrates an understanding of a range of mild to moderate mental health problems including: anxiety and depression and the impact of childhood abuse and neglect and how it may present in primary care.
* Demonstrates a knowledge of the issues surrounding work and the impact it can have on mental health/benefits and employment systems.
* Demonstrates an understanding for the need to use evidence based psychological therapies and how it relates to this post.
* Experience of working in Primary Care Services
* Experience in a service where agreed targets in place demonstrating clinical outcomes.


Qualifications

* Accreditation with BACP, BABCP, UKCP, BPS or other recognised professional organisation
* Evidence using the career framework of training in mental health and experience working in a stepped care service for anxiety and depression.
* Good record of Continuing Professional Development and willingness to continue this.
* Training in other modalities eg EMDR, MBCBT, IPT
* Training in Long Term Health Conditions / Medically Unexplained Symptoms for CBT Therapists
