Pastoral and Wellbeing Practitioner
We are seeking to appoint a caring, proactive and emotionally intelligent professional for the role of Pastoral and Wellbeing Practitioner in our school.
Job Details
* Grade / Salary: Grade 3A Scale Point 20 – 24 (FTE £32,597 - £35,412)
* Pro Rota Salary: Per Annum £27,707 - £30,100
* Hours: 36 hours per week (Term time only)
* Contract: Permanent (Subject to probation/school policy if applicable)
* Start Date: Tuesday 1 September 2026
* Closing Date: Wednesday 17 June 2026 at 12 noon.
* Interviews: Tuesday 23 June 2026
About the Role
The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting pupil wellbeing across the whole school by providing 1:1, small group and where appropriate whole class emotional support, promoting positive mental health and strengthening relationships between home and school.
Working closely with Senior Leaders, SENDCo, teachers and our wider staff, they will provide early support for pupils, guide families where appropriate and contribute to our nurturing and inclusive school ethos.
We are looking for someone who
* Has relevant experience and/or qualifications in education, pastoral care, child development, SEMH, family support, counselling, mental health or social care
* Has experience working with primary-aged children
* Builds strong, trusting relationships with pupils, parents, carers and colleagues
* Is calm, empathetic, professional and committed to inclusion
* Understands the importance of safeguarding, confidentiality and professional boundaries
Experience or training in areas such as Emotional Literacy Support, Thrive, trauma-informed practice, mental health first aid, attachment, emotion coaching or family support would be an advantage.
