Maths Tutor – Functional Skills & GCSE
Location: Salford
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: £28,000
Reed Further Education seeking a dedicated and experienced Maths Tutor to join a training provider in Greater Manchester. This is an exciting opportunity to deliver high-quality Functional Skills and GCSE Maths teaching to support learners in achieving their full potential.

Key Responsibilities
* Plan, deliver, and assess engaging and inclusive Maths lessons.
* Conduct initial and ongoing assessments to personalise learning pathways.
* Use assessment data and learner information to tailor teaching strategies.
* Promote high expectations and support learners’ confidence and aspirations.
* Manage classroom behaviour to create a positive and safe learning environment.
* Track learner progress, identifying and delivering interventions where required.
* Deliver teaching across centres, groups, and on a 1–1 basis.
* Uphold safeguarding, equality, diversity, and health & safety standards.
About You
* Recent experience teaching Maths to post-16 learners (e.g., in a college or training provider).
* Confident in preparing learners from Entry Level 3 through to Level 2, including Functional Skills, GCSE, and GCSE resits.
* Strong understanding of post-16 curriculum requirements, assessment methods, and diverse learner needs.
* Passionate about supporting learners from all backgrounds.
* Reflective, committed to continuous improvement, and eager to develop professionally.
* Resilient, adaptable, and able to bring creative solutions to challenges.
Qualifications & Skills
* Level 4+ teaching qualification.
* Minimum Level 2 Maths (GCSE or Functional Skills).
* Proven success delivering Functional Skills and GCSE Maths.
* Strong planning, organisation, and progress-tracking skills.
* Ability to collaborate effectively and manage workload across multiple sites.
All candidates who register with Reed Further Education will have 2 years’ referencing taken up and will be required to have a DBS check completed. All offers are conditional upon satisfactory background checks.
