Location: Glasgow – Govan and Scotstoun (On-site, attendance at a recruitment day in Glasgow required)
Salary: £38,662.00 (plus potential additional shift allowance of 33%)
What You'll Be Doing
As a Pipefitter, you will play a crucial role in our projects within the defence sector. Your responsibilities will include:
* Fabricating and installing pipework systems using various materials, including copper, cuni, carbon steel, and stainless steel.
* Utilizing hand tools and mechanical equipment to cut, bend, and weld pipes, ensuring precise installation.
* Installing utilities aboard ships, such as sinks, showers, and toilets.
* Assembling fittings, valves, and related components according to detailed drawings and specifications.
* Collaborating with other trades to ensure timely and accurate project completion.
* Adhering to safety regulations and company procedures at all times.
* Maintaining accurate records of work carried out.
Your Skills and Experience
Essential:
* Modern Apprenticeship certificate/Trade Papers (to be provided with your application) and relevant qualifications (e.g., SVQ3, City & Guilds, or equivalent).
* Current knowledge and experience in pipe manufacture, installation, and associated equipment.
* Strong understanding of pipefitting techniques, tools, and safety standards.
* Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical specifications.
* Clear understanding of SHE, COSHH, and Risk Assessments.
* Proven experience as a Pipefitter or in a similar role within an industrial or commercial environment.
Desirable:
* Marine Pipefitting experience.
* Experience in industrial or commercial settings.
* Understanding of manufacturing processes.
* Experience in TIG Pipe Welding.
