Job Purpose The Warehouse Operative is responsible for the safe, accurate, and efficient handling of goods within the warehouse. This includes receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching products while maintaining high standards of safety, quality, and inventory accuracy. Key Responsibilities Receive inbound goods, checking quantities and quality against delivery documentation Safely unload, move, and store stock in designated warehouse locations Pick and pack orders accurately to meet customer and dispatch requirements Prepare goods for shipment, including labelling and documentation Safely load outbound vehicles Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet trucks or forklifts. Conduct regular stock counts and assist with cycle counts and stocktakes Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS) Load raw material trollies for assembly areas Keep the warehouse/yard clean including recycling area, organized, and compliant with health and safety standards Report damages, shortages, or discrepancies to supervisors promptly Follow all company policies, procedures, and standard operating instructions Support continuous improvement initiatives within the warehouse Health & Safety Responsibilities Comply with all health, safety, and environmental regulations Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required Identify and report hazards, near misses, or unsafe conditions Operate equipment in a safe and responsible manner Key Skills & Competencies Good attention to detail and accuracy Ability to follow instructions and standard operating procedures Basic numeracy and literacy skills Strong teamwork and communication skills Time management and ability to meet deadlines Problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude Experience & Qualifications Previous warehouse or logistics experience preferred but not essential Forklift or other material handling equipment license desirable although training can be provided for the right candidate Basic computer skills and experience with WMS systems (advantageous) Willingness to undertake training and certifications as required Physical Requirements Ability to perform manual handling tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods Ability to work in a fast-paced warehouse environment Working Hours Monday to Thursday 08:00 to 16:30, Friday 08:00 to 13:00 Every third week the following is worked: Monday to Thursday 09:30 to 18:00, Friday 11:00 to 16:00 ( Shift allowance paid on this week) Overtime may be required during peak periods Performance Measures Picking and packing accuracy Adherence to safety standards Productivity and efficiency targets Attendance and punctuality Teamwork and reliability
