We are currently recruiting Phlebotomists to join our busy but friendly team at Peterborough City Hospital. Phlebotomists are responsible for the collection of blood samples by venepuncture from patients attending the hospital either as an inpatient or an outpatient. As part of North West Anglia NHS Foundation Trust, staff are expected to be able to work at our other sites including Hinchingbrooke Hospital and Stamford Hospital if required. As a phlebotomist your duties would include: Explaining the procedure to patients and providing reassuranceif needed. The collection of blood samples by venepuncture. Accurate identification of patients and labelling of samples. Delivering the samples to the laboratory within required timescales. Collating information regarding patient statistics, audit and patient surveys. Phlebotomy experience is preferred but not essential. Applicants must be able to work flexibly over a 7 day rota which includes weekends and Bank Holidays. 18.75 Hours per week.
