Registered Manager – Therapeutic Children's Home

We are looking for an experienced Residential Manager to join us in leading our small, one-bedded therapeutic children's home – with the exciting opportunity to help us establish and open our second home.

Our story began with a shared vision. As a social worker, therapist, and foster carer, I (Carl) had a clear goal: to create a therapeutic children's home where the most vulnerable children could receive the highest quality care in a safe, nurturing environment. That vision has now become a reality, with me as the Responsible Individual for our first home.

Kevin, a qualified teacher and successful business owner, joined me on this journey. Together, we bring a blend of professional and life experience, and most importantly, we are hands-on leaders. We are not simply looking to run a service – we are building a therapeutic home that makes a lasting difference, and we will be providing significant, ongoing support to the manager and team to ensure this.

Within the home, we have a strong therapeutic team, including a CBT therapist and psychologist, alongside a staff team trained in the PACE model. Our practice is trauma-informed, child-centred, and built around creating the right environment for children to heal, grow, and thrive.

We are seeking someone who shares our passion and commitment – an experienced manager who can not only lead the day-to-day running of the home but also play a key role in helping us grow our provision and open our second home.

We are looking for a manager who:

* Has proven experience as a Residential Manager
* Brings strong safeguarding, leadership, and organisational skills.
* Believes in therapeutic, child-centred care and is motivated to go beyond "standard" residential practice.
* Wants to be part of a supportive, passionate team driving forward positive change for children.

This is more than a job – it's an opportunity to lead within a therapeutic home built on genuine passion, experience, and care.

Care:

* Ensure that the children in our care receive the highest level of support, guidance, and therapy to facilitate their growth and development. To promote the practice of working in partnership with young people, their families, other staff within Evolution Children Services, and other agencies, to meet the needs of young people.

Staff Development:

* Recruit, train, and mentor staff members to create a positive and effective work environment.
* To set and review targets and objectives for the home's staff team to ensure that work is focused and has clear direction.
* To have line management responsibilities for a staff team, ensuring that all staff receive appropriate induction, supervision, and appraisal.

Regulatory Compliance:

* Ensure that the Children's Home complies with all relevant laws, regulations, and licensing requirements.
* To contribute to the development of corporate policies and service initiatives, aimed at improving the service.
* To ensure that there is a Statement of Purpose in place, which is appropriate to the needs of young people and outlines qualifications, experience and expertise of the staff employed within the home.

Budget Management:

* Manage the budget effectively to optimize resources while delivering exceptional care.

Collaboration:

* Build and maintain positive relationships with external agencies, families, and stakeholders to support the well-being of our residents.

Reporting:

* Provide regular reports to the leadership team on the status of the program and its impact.
* To undertake any other such duties as required by the Director, commensurate with the grade of the post.

Qualifications

* Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare (England) or a qualification which the registered provider considers to be equivalent to the Level 5 Diploma. Or be willing to complete this qualification during the designated time frame
* Within the last 5 years, worked for at least 2 years in a position relevant to the residential care of children.
* Experience in a leadership role within a therapeutic children's home or a similar setting.
* Strong understanding of child welfare practices and therapeutic interventions.
* Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills.
* Knowledge of relevant regulations.
* Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
* Dedication to the well-being and growth of children and adolescents.
