You were never the one who stayed clean growing up
Mud, grease, grit, if there was work to be done, you don’t mind getting stuck in.
As someone who doesn’t shy away from proper graft, you’re used to being outdoors, come rain or shine, and you know how to spot what’s worth saving from a pile of scrap.
That’s what this yardperson role is all about.
In the words of the MD “if it rains you’ll get wet… if it’s hot you sweat”
You’ll be working in a busy outdoor yard, surrounded by tonnes of metal, identifying what’s valuable and pulling it out for processing.
It’s physical work, but the heavy lifting is handled by machines, your judgement and work ethic are what matter most.
Some of the team here have been here over 30 years, their knowledge is second to none and with retirement on the horizon for a few, we’re looking for someone to step in and learn from the best.
You’ll be supported, trusted, and encouraged to bring your own experience to the role.
The Managing Director? He started out in this exact job, so, there’s no top-down attitude here. Just respect for the work and the people who do it.
What’s in it for you as a yardperson?
£13.50 per hour if you start with no experience.
40 hours a week, standard hours between 7:00am and 4:30pm

Extra pay if you’re excavator-trained, and if not, full training will be provided, they will invest in you so you can be driving the excavators around the yard.
You might have worked in farming, construction or another hands-on setting, you’ll be comfortable outdoors, you’ll know how to spot what’s useful, and you won’t need reminding that this job comes with a bit of weather.
You are a yardperson who wants to be part of something steady, honest and built on experience
If you’re reliable, hard-working and take pride in what you do, you’ll fit right in.
