Position
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist – Breast based at University Hospital Crosshouse. The post-holder will provide CNS cover at Ayrshire Central Hospital and University Hospital Ayr as required. This post is offered on a permanent basis.
Hours
22.5 hours per week; Tuesday, Thursday and Friday.
UK Driving Licence
A UK driving licence is essential for this role.
What You Will Do
The Macmillan Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) provides holistic care and support to patients and their families with breast cancer. Specialist nursing advice and care is provided throughout the patient pathway (including diagnosis, surgery, chemotherapy, radiotherapy and end of life) with the CNS acting as a key worker as well as a core member of the multidisciplinary team.
Knowledge, Training And/or Experience Required For This Post
The applicant will require substantial appropriate experience and should possess advanced communication skills and a passion for quality patient care. The CNS would be expected to either have or undertake a relevant Post-Graduate Certificate.
