Support Students in Wakefield as PE Support – Make a Real Difference Every Day Location: Wakefield – WF4 Salary: £460 – £600 per week (Depending on Experience) Start Date: Immediate Contract Type: Day-to-day / Long-term | Full-time / Part-time GSL Education are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Physical Education (PE) Support to join a friendly and inclusive school community in Wakefield (WF4). This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about physical education and supporting young people in developing confidence, teamwork, and a positive attitude towards sport. As PE Support, you will assist the PE department in delivering a variety of sports and physical activities, ensuring lessons run smoothly and students remain engaged and motivated. Your support will help create a safe, energetic and encouraging environment where students can thrive. Key Responsibilities of PE Support: Assist PE teachers with the delivery of lessons and activities Support students during sports sessions, ensuring participation and positive behaviour Help organise equipment, resources, and lesson setups Provide one-to-one or small-group support where required Encourage teamwork, focus, and physical confidence Support students with additional needs during PE activities Requirements for PE Support: Experience working with children or young people in a school, coaching or youth setting Strong communication and interpersonal skills Confidence in assisting with a range of physical activities and sports A proactive, caring and supportive attitude A secure understanding of safeguarding and child protection An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply) Please be advised that this role requires a strong knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and child protection and that successful applicants must satisfy all background safer recruitment checks, including providing an enhanced DBS certificate registered on the update service, or completing an application for a new check.
