An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Planner or Senior Planner to join a growing and well-regarded planning consultancy in Bristol. This is a fantastic opportunity to work on a diverse portfolio of projects while progressing your career within a supportive and commercially focused team.
This role would suit an ambitious planner looking to take on greater responsibility, develop client relationships, and contribute to high-quality development projects across the South West and beyond.
The Role
You will play a key role in delivering planning advice across a broad range of sectors, including:
* Residential and mixed‑use developments
* Commercial and employment schemes
* Retail and town centre projects
* Strategic land promotion
Key responsibilities will include:
* Managing planning applications from initial instruction through to determination
* Preparing planning statements, reports and supporting documentation
* Providing strategic planning advice to clients
* Liaising with local authorities, stakeholders and multidisciplinary teams
* Supporting business development and maintaining strong client relationships
* Contributing to project strategy and problem solving
* At Senior Planner level, you will also be expected to take on increased responsibility for project delivery, client management, and mentoring junior team members.
About You
The ideal candidate will have:
* Experience within a planning consultancy or local authority
* A strong understanding of the UK planning system
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* The ability to manage projects independently
* A proactive and commercially aware approach
* MRTPI Chartered status (or working towards Chartership)
* Experience managing complex planning applications
* Ability to support and mentor junior team members
