Wells Fargo is seeking an Indirect Tax Advisor/Analyst (EMEA).
Based in our London office, reporting to the Head of International Tax.

The candidate will support the International Tax team in respect of the responsibilities outlined below and will be located in our London office, reporting to the Head of International Tax, with review and co-ordination of their indirect Tax work by the EMEA indirect Tax Lead.
This role will epass support and assistance in relation to Indirect Taxpliance, reporting and advisory work. Indirect tax support with Projects will also be a keyponent of the role.
The candidate will have experience of indirect tax issues, be a self-starter and a clearmunicator with all levels of management. The candidate will need to demonstrate the ability to work independently and pro-actively with Wells Fargo business lines, legal entities, and functional support groups.
In this role, you will:
1. Be responsible for the review and approval of various indirect tax filings across EMEA and providing support on advisory indirect tax matters including assistance in delivering significant VAT reclaims and managing audit queries.
2. Be accountable to the Head of Indirect Tax as primary reviewer of EMEA indirect tax returns including the UK, Ireland, Germany and France. This involves the review of the working papers, supporting documentation and the final return file prepared by Controllers, documenting findings, highlighting adjustments and confirming approval prior to submission.
3. Assist in the preparation and review of ongoing input tax claims for various entities across EMEA.
4. Support in the delivery of internal and external indirect tax audit queries across multiple legal entities.
5. Support in implementing the enhanced controls for indirect tax including updating and maintaining process notes and identifying review enhancements where possible.
6. Serve as a point of contact for finance, providing proactive pragmatic indirect tax advice andpliance support.
7. Identify opportunities to enhance and improve the UK VAT return process through appropriate review and testing.
8. Act as lead advisor to Account Payable and Accounts Receivable re VAT treatment on invoicing and billing.
9. Ensurepliance trackers are kept up to date and saved in appropriate folders.
10. Assist VAT team to deliver advice on ad hoc business queries to lines of business.
11. Assist in the preparation and delivery of training and quarterly updates to Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Controllers and senior stakeholders.
12. Assist in the delivery of key indirect tax related projects ensuring they arepleted on time.
13. Support delivery of key VAT metrics for internal management reporting purposes.
14. Assist in the preparation and delivery of the UK VAT manual documenting the process of preparation and review of the UK group return.
15. Monitor EMEA legislative indirect tax developments and escalate changes to Head of Indirect Tax as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
16. Experience in Accounting, or equivalent demonstrated through one or abination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education.
17. Relevant accounting or tax qualification ACA / ACCA / ATT / CTA with in-house VATpliance experience.
18. Excellentmunication.
19. Advanced level Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
20. Experience in developing and managing process improvements and project management.
21. Effective organizational, multi-tasking and stakeholder management skills.
