We are now seeking an experienced and proactive Buyer / Purchasing Executive to manage and support procurement activities across all business units.
Key Responsibilities
* Procure raw materials and finished goods for food-grade packaging (Mariner Packaging), horticultural products, and pet care lines.
* Liaise with international and domestic suppliers, negotiate pricing and terms, and manage lead times and deliveries.
* Ensure all purchasing is compliant with food-grade standards and meets quality assurance requirements.
* Monitor stock levels and place purchase orders via Sage 200.
* Support the development and maintenance of supplier relationships, sourcing new suppliers where needed.
* Work closely with logistics and warehouse teams to ensure timely inbound delivery and optimal stock management.
* Prepare reports on procurement activity, cost savings, and supplier performance.
* Assist with procurement-related projects across the group.
Candidate Requirements
* Proven experience in a buying or procurement role, ideally within packaging, food, horticulture, or related industries.
* Strong understanding of supply chain principles and international purchasing.
* Proficient in using Sage 200 or a similar ERP system.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
* Ability to manage multiple suppliers and product lines efficiently.
* Highly organised, with strong attention to detail.
* Able to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
