Assistant Head Teacher

Salary: Leadership Scale L4 - L9 (Salary dependent on experience)
Caldecott School is looking for a talented, dynamic, and motivated teacher to take on an exciting role as Assistant Head Teacher. Caldecott is a non-maintained special school with up to 85 pupils on roll, aged between 5 – 16 years.
We provide high quality education and therapeutic care for pupils with a range of special educational needs. Our clear purpose is to make an enduring difference to our children’s lives, providing them with the knowledge, resilience and skills that prepare them for adulthood and ensure they have a better future.
Duties will include:
1. Lead on a specific area of the Ofsted framework across Caldecott School.
2. Provide strategic leadership in this area, monitor and evaluate activities for impact as set out in Caldecott School’s ‘Self Evaluation Development Plan’.
3. Provide strategic leadership to fulfil the school’s vision of transformational learning opportunities in all aspects of their lives as they ‘prepare for adulthood’.
4. Support teachers in understanding the different aspects of teaching and learning in SEN&D school
5. Work closely with the Heads of School to provide daily operational support, as directed.
You will need to have:
6. A commitment to providing high quality educational opportunities for pupils with a range of SEND including Autism and Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs.
7. Min. 3 years in higher education with qualification at degree level or equivalent
8. The ability to work as part of a highly effective team.
9. Strong commitment to inclusion.
10. Excellent communication skills.
11. A good range of IT skills.
12. Qualified Teacher Status.
13. A UK registered teahing qualification e.g. PGCE or certificate in education
14. Minimum 5 years’ experience of teaching
15. Experience of successful management at senior level
