Reconomy
Operations executive

Offer description

Reconomy, an international circular economy specialist. Using a tech-enabled, people powered approach we have been able to support thousands businesses across the globe to achieve their sustainability goals. The culture that we have created at Reconomy has a strong and lasting emphasis on family, friendship and fun. We believe this culture to be highly infectious, making it far easier for new recruits and quieter team members to build their confidence, find their voice and flourish. Our core values drive everything we do. We believe in promoting a supportive environment for our colleagues, delivering exceptional service to our customers, contributing to the community, and working towards a more sustainable environment. If you share these values and are passionate about making a positive impact, we'd love to have you on our team. Are you ready for your next step in your career? Or perhaps it's time for a new challenge? Then look no further, we're looking for an Operations Executive (CH&I) to join our team in Telford. This is a role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys problem-solving, and isn’t afraid to stand their ground when needed. You’ll need to be resilient, proactive, and confident in your ability to see tasks through from start to finish, even when the path isn’t straightforward. You’ll be customer-focused and able to work under pressure to meet service standards, while also supporting Reconomy’s commercial goals. This will involve working closely with our network of approved suppliers, regional Supply Chain Managers, and colleagues across the business. Key Responsibilities: Procure services for a range of containerised hazardous and non-hazardous waste streams, based on quotations generated from our internal systems. Build and maintain strong supplier relationships, using your negotiation skills to secure the best outcomes. Handle supplier pushback with confidence and professionalism—resolving issues or escalating where necessary. Record, update, and maintain supplier contacts and records in Reconomy platforms. Assist with tenders and strategic pricing matrices as required. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of Reconomy’s products, services, and relevant industry developments. What We're Looking For: A resilient and determined mindset - you’re not easily discouraged and can keep going when things get tough. Initiative and ownership - you’re comfortable having a task thrown your way and seeing it through to completion. Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills. Procurement experience is a bonus, but not essential - we value the right attitude and a willingness to learn. Confident communicator, especially over the phone. A team player who enjoys collaboration. Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel and Word. Experience in a customer or supplier-facing role with a focus on delivering great service. Organised and proactive, with the ability to meet deadlines and SLAs. Our Benefits: Holidays - 23 days of annual leave, increasing to 25 days after two years of service, plus bank holidays. After one year, you can also take advantage of our holiday buy/sell scheme for added flexibility. Birthday Leave - Enjoy your special day off once you reach one year of service. Volunteering Day - One paid day per year to support a local community project. MyPerks Platform - Access a wide range of discounts, cashback offers, cycle-to-work schemes, mortgage advice, wellbeing support, and more! Gym Discounts - Corporate discounts at selected local gyms. Financial & Family Support - Competitive pension contributions, life assurance, and enhanced maternity and paternity leave. Employee Referral Programme - Recommend great talent and earn a reward. Long Service Awards - Celebrating your milestones with us. Reward & Recognition Schemes - Recognising and celebrating achievements across the business. During your initial three-month probation period, you will be based full-time at our Telford office (TF3 3BD). Following successful completion of this period, hybrid working arrangements will be considered, typically involving a minimum of three days per week in the office and up to two days working from home. Please Note: The closing date for applications is indicative and may be brought forward due to the high volume of applications we are currently receiving. We encourage you to apply as soon as possible to avoid disappointment.
