Production Controller / Yeovil / £19.10 per hour
Job Overview
Our client, a leading Aerospace and Defence manufacturer, is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Production Controller to join their Transmissions Manufacturing team. The role involves supporting material supply and production flow, ensuring the timely delivery of components to manufacturing and assembly shops. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align with the master production plan and enhance operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities
1. Launch and manage production orders in SAP.
2. Monitor and resolve WIP issues, incorrect clocking, and production order discrepancies.
3. Conduct shortage reviews and expedite critical parts.
4. Ensure accurate BOMs and coordinate kitting activities.
5. Manage offload operations and prioritize outgoing work.
6. Liaise with logistics, stores, and shop floor teams to resolve material supply issues.
7. Maintain build sheets, update order books, and support SAP reporting.
8. Promote and adhere to health, safety, and environmental standards.
Key Skills & Experience
1. Proficient in Microsoft Excel.
2. Working knowledge of SAP (Material Management & Production Planning modules).
3. Understanding of manufacturing processes, MRP, and material supply.
4. Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
5. Team player with a customer-focused mindset.
6. Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities.
7. Knowledge of quality systems and production environments.
Desirable Qualifications
1. I-INC or equivalent in a relevant discipline.
2. Previous experience in a manufacturing or production control environment.
This is a one-year temporary contract with the potential for extension.
Shifts
* Early: Monday to Thursday 06:00-14:00, Friday 06:00-12:00
* Late: Monday to Thursday 14:00-22:00, Friday 12:00-18:00
