An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated and highly dynamic Paediatric nurse to join our respiratory specialist nursing team. You will be part of a multi‑disciplinary team and will provide high levels of care to children/adolescents and their families.
Specialities
This role encompasses three specialities: asthma, allergy, and cystic fibrosis.
Responsibilities
* Manage a cohort of asthma patients in both nurse‑led and consultant clinics at Kings Mill Hospital and Newark.
* Perform spirometry and FENO testing, and develop and monitor individual asthma care plans.
* Engage in audit and research projects related to paediatric respiratory care.
* Assist in leading a small clinical team, participating in network meetings, and providing education to medical and nursing staff to improve quality and enhance care delivery.
* Conduct patient assessment, plan and implement specialist care, and provide advice, support and education in collaboration with the wider multidisciplinary team, including child protection and safeguarding teams.
* Support colleagues at Nottingham University Hospital to provide guidance for children local to Sherwood Forest Hospitals regarding cystic fibrosis management.
Qualifications
* Experience in nursing children with medical conditions is preferable.
* Band 6 experience or equivalent is required.
