The Role
We are hiring a Legal Counsel to join our expanding legal team, with a particular focus on cyber security, defence contracts, and public sector engagements. This is a pivotal role that will support complex, high-impact work across our public sector and national security portfolios. This position would suit a mid-level lawyer (2–4 PQE) with direct experience advising on matters involving defence, cyber, procurement, or regulatory frameworks within the UK public sector.
Key Responsibilities
* Advise internal stakeholders on public procurement regulations, cyber risk, and contractual issues within major defence and government frameworks.
* Draft, negotiate, and review complex public sector contracts, including those governed by the Public Contracts Regulations (PCR) and Defence and Security Public Contracts Regulations (DSPCR).
* Provide legal support on cybersecurity and data protection compliance in the context of public sector engagements.
What We’re Looking For
* UK-qualified solicitor with 1–4 years’ post-qualification experience.
* Strong experience advising on legal matters for public sector clients, particularly within defence, national security, policing, health, or government departments.
* Previous experience working with or advising UK bodies such as the Home Office, Ministry of Justice, MoD, Metropolitan Police, NHS, or intelligence agencies.
* It is important to be eligible for or already hold Security Check (SC) or Developed Vetting (DV) clearance.
