About the Role Youll be part of a skilled workshop team, reporting directly to the Workshop Foreman. This is a hands-on role where youll be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and repairing a wide range of HGV vehicles and associated equipment. Youll alternate weekly between day shift and back shift, with additional earnings available through shift allowance, overtime, and eventual participation in the on-call rota. The workshop handles a steady flow of work, meaning consistent hours and job security. Whether youre already an experienced HGV Technician or a van/car mechanic with the right qualifications and attitude, theres room to develop and grow. Working Hours You will alternate weekly between: Day Shift: Monday to Thursday: 7:00am 3:30pm Friday: 7:00am 3:30pm Back Shift: Monday to Thursday: 3:30pm 11:00pm Friday: 2:30pm 10:00pm Overtime available. Additional compensation paid for back-shift weeks and call-out. Key Duties Repairing and maintaining a variety of HGV vehicles and equipment Carrying out routine servicing and preventative maintenance Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults Preparing and presenting vehicles for MOT Ensuring all work is completed to a high and compliant standard Working collaboratively within the workshop team Eventually participating in the on-call rota Key Requirements Minimum 1 years experience as an HGV Technician (or relevant mechanical background) Fully qualified HGV Technician Own tools essential Full UK Driving Licence (Class 1 desirable but not essential) Strong team player with a proactive attitude Ability to work independently and take ownership of your work Solution-focused mindset
