Job Details
* Title: Site Reliability Engineer
* Location: Bristol
* Hours: Full-time - 35 hours/week
* Work Pattern: Hybrid, at least two days/week in Bristol
About the Role
Our SRE team within Analytics & AI platform seeks an experienced Engineer with strong hands-on development skills. You will work on automation and gen AI products, maintaining applications on Private and Public Clouds to support the Bank’s vision for 2025 and beyond.
Responsibilities
* Support multi-application, multi-platform teams
* Investigate, resolve, and remediate service issues
* Lead post-incident reviews and drive problem resolution
* Automate to eliminate toil and improve processes
* Develop proactive monitoring and observability solutions
* Define and track Service Level Objectives and Indicators
Requirements
* Strong knowledge of SRE principles (SLI, SLO, SLA) with Observability tools
* Experience with Infrastructure as Code and CI/CD pipelines (Terraform, Jenkins, Harness)
* Proficiency in designing and managing cloud deployments, orchestration tools
* Programming skills in Java, Groovy, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, PowerShell, or Bash
* Experience with Kubernetes, GCP, Azure
* Ability to identify toil and automate solutions
* Understanding of Cloud security and networking
* Experience with cloud monitoring tools like Dynatrace
Desirable
* Experience in banking/finance industry
* Familiarity with Jira, Confluence, Agile practices
* Cloud certifications (Azure, GCP, AWS)
* Experience in SRE or transitioning from software engineering roles
