About the Role
As our Cookery & Life Skills Teacher, you will:
* Deliver engaging, practical cookery lessons across primary and secondary phases
* Teach pupils about nutrition, food hygiene, kitchen safety, and healthy eating
* Develop fun, age-appropriate schemes of work that promote confidence and independence
* Work closely with tutor groups and colleagues to support the delivery of wider life skills education
* Contribute to whole-school initiatives that encourage wellbeing, teamwork, and personal development
* Maintain a safe, organised, and inspiring learning environment, including the effective management of kitchen spaces and equipment
About You
We are looking for someone who:
* Has experience teaching cookery, food technology, or a similar practical subject (school experience preferred but not essential)
* Is enthusiastic, approachable, and able to motivate pupils of all ages and abilities
* Demonstrates strong organisational and classroom-management skills
* Works well as part of a team and is eager to contribute to wider pastoral and skills-based programmes
* Shares our commitment to ensuring that all pupils feel valued, confident, and capable
Relevant teaching qualifications are desirable but not mandatory—experienced practitioners with a passion for education are encouraged to apply.
