We’re looking to offer a salary of up to £38,210.16 per annum (plus night allowance of £3,120) and 33 days annual leave (inclusive of bank holidays). Your benefits package includes a company‑sponsored pension scheme, life assurance, and access to our benefits platform, including retail discounts.
What you’ll do on a typical day
* Day‑to‑day management of a busy transport operation, ensuring work is issued and dispatched on time, fleet utilisation is optimised, and service risks are escalated appropriately
* Ownership of on‑road issues and delivery failures, liaising with customers, resolving problems quickly, and driving root‑cause solutions
* Hands‑on people leadership, delivering effective pre‑shift briefings and de‑briefs, alongside coaching, training, performance and absence management
* Full transport compliance accountability, covering drivers’ hours, vehicle safety, audit readiness, record accuracy, and adherence to GXO and customer quality standards
* Commitment to safety and site processes, ensuring Safe Systems of Work, Health & Safety regulations, payroll, yard management, fleet collections and all site‑based processes are followed
What you need to succeed at GXO
* Passion to deliver in a fast‑paced transport operation, with previous transport experience in a supervisory role
* Experience in using transport management systems and MS packages
* Proven knowledge of driver/transport legislation and pride in delivering compliance
* Strong communication skills, with ability to work on own initiative as well as team engagement and delivery
