About the role
As one of our Technician Specialists, you'll have the unique opportunity to bring our distinctive John Lewis service directly to customers' homes, installing products such as furniture, kitchen appliances, sound systems, and TV sets as part of a 2-person delivery crew. You will also coach and develop other delivery drivers in home installations and customer service, acting as a role model for the excellent service John Lewis is known for.
Note: Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be 18 years or older.
Key Responsibilities
* Represent the John Lewis brand with a focus on exceptional customer service.
* Coach, develop, and assess delivery driver colleagues, sharing knowledge to enhance performance and brand representation.
* Assist in loading deliveries and work alongside the warehouse team.
* Respect customer homes, handle unexpected situations, and find optimal solutions.
* Install products efficiently and demonstrate their use post-installation.
* Stay updated on new products and technologies.
* Maintain a safe working environment.
Essential Skills and Experience
* Previous installation experience, with training provided through our installer accreditation.
* Manual C1 UK driving license (max 6 points).
* DCPC and Tachograph Card.
* Experience driving a 7.5-tonne vehicle.
* Customer-facing experience.
* Excellent verbal communication skills.
* Physical ability to handle large items like sofas, white goods, and furniture.
* Good understanding of technology.
Working Hours
AM: 06:00-17:00, Monday - Saturday, 4 days/week.
PM: 10:30-21:30 Monday-Friday, 07:00-18:00 Saturday, 4 days/week.
