Are you a talented Mechanical Design Engineer looking to develop your career within the water and utilities sector? We are supporting a leading engineering contractor as they continue to strengthen their design and delivery capability across major regional infrastructure programmes.
This is an excellent opportunity to work on technically challenging and high-impact schemes, contributing to the development of essential water and wastewater assets across greater London.
Role Overview
* Produce and develop mechanical designs from concept through to detailed design, ensuring compliance with project specifications and industry standards.
* Prepare technical documents, calculations, schedules, and design reports.
* Work closely with civil, electrical, and process engineering disciplines to deliver fully coordinated designs.
* Support design reviews, HAZOPs, risk assessments, and value engineering activities.
* Provide technical support during construction, commissioning, and handover stages.
* Ensure all design work adheres to the highest health, safety, and environmental standards.
About You
* Degree or HNC/HND in Mechanical Engineering (or equivalent).
* Proven experience within the water, wastewater, or wider utilities sector.
* Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, pipework, rotating equipment, and associated infrastructure.
* Proficient in relevant design software and tools (e.g., AutoCAD, 3D modelling, calculation software).
* Excellent communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
* A proactive approach with a strong focus on quality and efficient delivery.
* CSCS / EUSR Water Hygiene desirable.
