Overview
The Pathology IT Technical Administrator plays a pivotal role in supporting and maintaining the IT infrastructure within Black Country Pathology Services (BCPS). Reporting to the Pathology IT Service Lead, the post holder acts as a lead technical specialist responsible for the day‑to‑day operation of pathology IT systems, including system integration, troubleshooting, user account management, and helpdesk support.
Responsibilities
* Run the day‑to‑day operation of pathology IT systems, including system integration, troubleshooting, user account management and helpdesk support.
* Collaborate with internal teams and external suppliers to ensure seamless system upgrades, data integrity and compliance with Trust policies.
* Investigate IT system malfunctions, provide integration support, give small systems advice and contribute to IT policies and procedures.
* Manage system user accounts & passwords and maintain general housekeeping.
* Provide first‑line helpdesk support to users of the Pathology systems, including maintenance of the pathology customer relationship management application.
* Contribute to performance monitoring and training delivery.
