The Commercial Finance assistant is a core role in the APP commercial finance team, responsible for supporting the Head of Commercial finance in analysing and reporting the performance of APP and Mr Central Heating within the Plumbing and Heating division of the Lords group.
The role will work closely with the commercial, sales, and operations teams, as well as the wider finance team.
While based out of the HRP Trade offices in Chelmsford, it is a hybrid role with the opportunity to work from home part of the week. This is a 1-year contract to cover maternity leave.
The Plumbing and Heating division of the Lords group includes wholesale brands (APP and HRP Trade) and merchants (Mr Central Heating and Direct Heating & Plumbing), with an online presence through Mr Central Heating.
APP Wholesale distributes boilers and other plumbing and heating products to over 1,000 merchant customers across the UK from seven depots. HRP Trade distributes boiler spares from Chelmsford to merchant and retail customers, including Screwfix.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Financial Analysis and Reporting:
* Producing daily sales tracker reports for management.
* PI Count analysis and weekly reporting.
* Monthly stock analysis at company and branch levels.
* Monthly Sales Out Data reporting to suppliers.
* Monthly GFK industry data reporting.
* Monthly margin analysis.
* Preparing trading board slides.
* Managing customer/supplier rebate invoices and credit notes.
* Producing exception reports and liaising over order discrepancies.
* Generating financial and operational KPI reports for management.
* Assisting with the annual budget and reforecasting.
* Conducting ad hoc financial analysis as needed.
1. Process Improvement:
* Creating and developing Power BI reports.
* Supporting the implementation of financial systems, process improvements, and automation initiatives.
* Identifying and sharing ideas for continuous improvement in management accounts.
