IT Project Manager | Energy Trading Data Transformation | £900 Inside IR35 | Hybrid, LDN 2-3 days
A global Trading organisation is undertaking a number of large-scale Data & Transformation initiatives and therefore requires a Senior Project Manager to come in and lead a portfolio of complex delivery programmes across both technology and business functions.
This is a highly visible role operating across Data, Engineering, Architecture and Front Office aligned stakeholders, requiring someone capable of bringing structure, accountability and pace to a fast-moving delivery environment.
The successful Project Manager will be responsible for driving complex data initiatives across areas such as Data Migration, Data Integration, Analytics, Governance and Reporting, whilst managing senior stakeholders across both business and technology.
As a Senior Project Manager, you will be expected to take ownership of delivery, manage programme governance, resolve delivery blockers and drive projects through to completion. The role requires someone highly proactive and commercially aware, capable of operating effectively within complex and high-pressure environments.
You will work closely with senior business stakeholders, data teams, engineers, architects and analysts, whilst managing delivery planning, RAID management, critical path dependencies, reporting and steering governance across multiple concurrent initiatives.
📊 Day rates: up to £900, Inside IR35
📈 Contract: Initial 6 months rolling
📍Location of work: Hybrid. 2-3 days from the office, London
‼️ This role requires some level of commercial experience in Financial Services or Trading environments - Energy / Commodity Trading experience is a BIG plus.
💻 Experience required for the Senior Project Manager role:
* Extensive experience delivering complex Data / Technology transformation programmes
* Strong experience managing Data Migration, Integration, Governance or Analytics focused projects
* Experience managing cross-functional technical and business teams
* Strong stakeholder management and governance experience
* Experience operating within fast-paced, high-pressure environments
* Strong delivery ownership mentality
* Experience with Agile / Waterfall delivery methodologies
* Experience using Jira, Azure DevOps, MS Project etc.
Desirable:
* Financial Markets / Trading environment experience
* Commodities / Energy / Front Office exposure
* Experience managing large-scale business transformation programmes
Duties of the Senior Project Manager:
* Leading delivery across multiple concurrent projects/programmes
* Managing project governance, reporting and stakeholder communication
* Identifying and mitigating delivery risks and blockers
* Managing critical path dependencies and prioritisation conflicts
* Driving accountability across technical and business teams
* Facilitating steering committees and executive updates
* Establishing structure, delivery cadence and programme visibility
* Working closely with Data, Engineering and Business stakeholders to ensure successful delivery
