Occupational Safety & Assurance Manager CrossCountry are looking for an Occupational Safety & Assurance Manager to act as an expert on occupational safety & assurance, as a competent safety professional with an understanding of working in a complex operational organisation. Responsibilities include: Lead on Occupational Safety and Assurance within XCTL As a subject matter expert support XCTL in developing its maturity in the management of occupational safety. Provide expert advice to managers and ensure risk assessments and controls are properly prepared, fully compliant with legislation and ready for review by relevant professional head or independent body. Manage day to day communication and actions with external bodies in relation to Occupational Safety. Lead on the preparation and management of the XCTL Safety Certificate, this will include the administration of the review process. Ensure arrangements for monitoring safety performance in areas where you are responsible or competent. Where necessary Liaise, on behalf of CrossCountry, with Network Rail, ORR, RDG and individual TOCS, on matters of safety. Act professionally for all issues relating to occupational safety, security and environmental management. Review legislation and industry standards applicable to health and safety and the development and implementation of plans to enable compliance. Lead safety throughout the business. Ensure adequate support to line managers on all aspects of health and safety. The ideal candidate should have the following qualifications / experience: Minimum of NEBOSH Certificate in Occupational Health and Safety Experience of working within Rail or similar industry with Occupational Health and Safety Promote a positive work environment by addressing health and safety concerns, Implement preventative measures and providing guidance to colleagues and management. Understanding of Railway Safety Certification, renewal process. Experience with working with regulators, Office of Rail and Road, HSE, Local Authorities. Closing date for applications: 11th May 2025.
