We are looking for an Area Housing Manager to join our Housing team here at Southern Housing. Youll manage a team providing an effective and efficient housing management service to residents.
This is a permanent, hybrid role (minimum 2 days in office)based at our Courtyard office in Newport, Isle of wight.

About the role
As an Area Housing Manager, youll manage a team to provide an effective and efficient housing management service to residents. The team manages stock dispersed across the Isle of Wight. Youll be the Custodian of Place, embedding the model and ensuring your team meet the regulatory standards with regards to Housing Management, good practice, policies and policies. Youll be a role model and lead your team to be professional, empathetic, polite, courteous, and hard working as well as proactively resolving issues when they find them, in a safe and efficient manner. Youll drive a performance culture on continuous improvement, accountability and personal responsibility and manage team performance to consistently meet KPIs.
Responsibilities will include:
Managing and motivating your team to deliver exceptional housing management services to our residents.
Working collaboratively with your regional management team and peers to ensure resources meet demand.
Managing individual team members and be responsible for staff development within the team including, training, 1 to 1s, annual appraisals, objective setting and addressing performance issues.
Delivering a customer focused, compliant, value for money service which embraces Southern Housing culture, legislation, and best practice. Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures and good neighbour management.
Providing leadership and direction to your team. Drive performance, achieving targets, balanced with a strong customer focus and our ambition to be a fair and including organisation.
What youll need
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Experience or ability tolead or manage an area team, with the ability to work across the regions and departments.
Ability to manage complex case work
Experience or ability to manage budgets
Ability to work with key stakeholders internally and externally
Experience of complaint resolution
Ability to interpret and analyse data to produce action plans, with experience of presenting reports to Regional Management team and beyond.
Ability to provide effective supervision and support to your direct reports
