About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Integrated Front Door (IFD) Advisor within our Children’s Advice and Duty Service. This vital role sits at the heart of our safeguarding system, providing the first pointof contact for children, families, and professionals seeking support, advice, or guidance.

The successful applicant will play a key role in managing the flow of information between the Council and safeguarding partners, ensuring that all communications are handled sensitively, confidentially, and in line with statutory guidance and internal policy.

As an IFD Advisor, you will support Consultant Social Workers and Principal Managers in the day-to-day coordination of information requests, intelligence gathering, and administrative liaison to ensure timely and informed decision-making.


Key Responsibilities

Take telephone calls from children, families, and members of the public, providing appropriate early help advice and support.

Facilitate the smooth flow of communication and data between the IFD and safeguarding partners.

Manage confidential information sharing in accordance with data protection and organisational procedures.

Coordinate intelligence requests and collate responses from safeguarding partners for review by Consultant Social Workers and Team Managers.

Gather supplementary information to assist social work decision-making.

Provide general administrative and liaison support as directed by the IFD Team Manager.


About You

We are seeking an organised, confident, and professional individual who thrives in a fast‑paced, multi‑agency environment. You will have:

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

Strong organisational ability with attention to detail.

A sound understanding of confidentiality and data protection principles.

Experience in a customer‑facing or administrative role (ideally within a social care or public sector setting).

The ability to remain calm under pressure and manage competing priorities effectively.
