Our client employer in Cambridge is looking for a full-time Brake Press Operator to join their team in a Contract to Permanent role for the right person!
Shift: Monday-Thursday, Day shift
Pay Rate: $.-./ hour + 4% vacation pay added to each cheque weekly!

Responsibilities:
1. Lay out, set up, and operate one or more light or heavy metalworking machines such as shears, power presses, saws, plate rolls, drills, brakes, slitters, punch presses, computer numerically controlled (CNC) equipment, and other hand tools to cut, bend, shape and form metal stock into parts or products.
2. Check product for correct shape, dimensions, and other specifications using a variety of measuring tools.
3. Accurately report all manufactured quantities for acceptable and scrap parts for each work order in the ERP system (PSI) in a timely manner.
4. Ensure brake presses, turret punches, and lasers are set up appropriately for long and short run orders.
5. Trouble shoot production machinery with an aim to keep the shift running by performing minor corrections or repairs.
6. Contact appropriate management personnel for machinery emergencies that would otherwise result in shift cancellation.
7. Work according to the Ontario Occupational Health and Safety Act and Regulation – Industrial Establishments.
8. Wear all Personal Protective Equipment in the manner in which it is prescribed.
9. Train new employees to operate Brake Presses, Turret Presses, and Laser equipment.
10. Complete other duties deemed necessary by your Supervisor, the Controller, or the Vice-President.
Skill Requirements:
11. Completion of Highschool and/or equivalent experience
12. Post-Secondary education in a CNC Set-Up or Maintenance, or equivalent mechanical knowledge
13. Valid Forklift Certification
14. Minimum 1-2 years’ experience in a Brake Press role
15. 1 or more years’ experience operating a Turret Punch and Laser
16. Ability to read alpha and numeric work orders and part numbers
17. Ability to use measuring equipment such as verniers and angle protractors
18. High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
19. Communicate with all levels of the Company using excellent written and verbal skills.
20. Work independently without excessive supervision and review work for accuracy within specified time constraints
