Veterinary Receptionist, Administrator & Cleaner (Maternity Cover)

Locations: Rhyl and Prestatyn, North Wales

Contract: Fixed-term (Maternity Cover)

Expected End Date: December 2026

Are you a highly organised, friendly, and flexible person who takes pride in a clean and well-run environment? We're looking for an enthusiastic Veterinary Receptionist, Administrator, and Cleaner to join our dedicated team on a maternity cover contract. This varied role is essential to the smooth running of both our Rhyl and Prestatyn practices.

The Role: Hours and Start Date

* Minimum Hours: 19 hours per week guaranteed, working every Monday and Tuesday.
* Flexibility & Opportunity: There are excellent opportunities for additional hours, with the potential to work up to 40 hours some weeks to cover holidays and sickness.
* Availability: You must be flexible to work occasional weekends and to cover short-notice absences.
* Start Date: ASAP for a thorough handover period before the current team member commences maternity leave.

Key Responsibilities (A Truly Varied Role)

This position is a fantastic mix of client service, administration, and maintaining our professional appearance.

Reception & Customer Service

Managing our busy reception desk, handling incoming calls, booking appointments, updating and managing confidential patient records, and ensuring our waiting areas are welcoming.

Administration

A key function involves processing veterinary insurance claims (training provided), managing files, and general office administration support for the clinical team.

Cleaning & Maintenance

Maintaining a clean, safe, and professional environment across both sites. Duties include cleaning reception, waiting areas, offices, staff areas, and clinical areas (full training provided). This also includes general external upkeep like litter picking and window cleaning.

What We're Looking For

* Customer Service Excellence: A friendly, empathetic, and professional approach to supporting our clients and their pets.
* Organisational Skills: Strong ability to multitask and switch efficiently between reception, admin, and cleaning duties.
* Communication: Excellent verbal and written skills, and proficiency with computer systems.
* A Can-Do Attitude: You must genuinely enjoy cleaning and take pride in maintaining high standards of hygiene and presentation.
* Flexibility: Willingness to travel between our two practices (Rhyl and Prestatyn) and adapt to a varied working schedule.

Experience in the veterinary sector is preferred but not essential. We provide comprehensive on-the-job training to ensure you are confident in all aspects of the role.
