Role Purpose: We are seeking an experienced Derivatives Operations Specialist to join our Securities Services operations team. This role is critical in ensuring the smooth and accurate processing of derivatives transactions, with a focus on both Exchange-Traded Derivatives (ETD) and Over-the-Counter (OTC) products.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting the full trade lifecycle, including trade capture, margin and collateral management, reconciliations, P&L attribution, and exception handling. You will work closely with internal stakeholders across middle office and fund accounting functions, ensuring operational accuracy and compliance with regulatory standards.
This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional with strong SME knowledge in derivatives and a background in Securities Services to contribute to a high-performing team.
Key Accountabilities: Support day-to-day BAU operations in derivatives processing, with a focus on ETD and OTC products. Ensure accurate trade capture, margin posting, and resolution of margin disputes. Perform reconciliations of trades, cash, and positions, ensuring timely resolution of exceptions. Collaborate with internal teams to support fund accounting and middle office processes. Maintain oversight of collateral and margin workflows from execution through to settlement. Contribute to exception management and P&L attribution processes. Utilise platforms such as Aladdin for ETD processing and reporting. Work closely with programme teams to ensure alignment between current-state operations and future-state design.
Skills and Experience
What you will bring to the role 35 years of experience in derivatives operations within a Securities Services or fund accounting environment. Strong SME-level knowledge of ETD (futures, options) and OTC (interest rate swaps) derivatives. Familiarity with buy-side accounting and middle office processes. Solid understanding of collateral and margin management, including dispute resolution. Experience with trade capture, reconciliations, P&L, and exception handling. Proficiency in Excel (pivot tables, macros, data manipulation). Working knowledge of Aladdin or similar platforms is highly desirable.
