THE BUSINESS
Our client in Cramlington specializes in aviation and technology. An exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to travel globally, visiting clients in remarkable locations. The role involves building, installing, implementing, and supporting the company's software and hardware at client sites, along with providing training and technical support. An electronic engineering background is essential, with strong communication skills and a proactive attitude towards working in a niche sector. Reporting to the Operations Manager, this role offers growth within a dynamic environment.
THE ROLE
* Procure, build, install, and test business products
* Prepare project documentation following company methodology and QA procedures
* Conduct acceptance testing to meet milestones and obtain sign-off
* Install and commission equipment at customer sites
* Deliver projects on time and within budget
* Provide customer training as needed
* Produce progress reports for the Operations Manager
* Update the project plan as necessary
* Set a positive example for junior engineers
* Support customers under warranty and maintenance agreements
* Record activities in CRM
* Perform case analysis and resolution
* Coordinate with software teams for issue resolution
* Liaise with customer engineers and management tactfully
* Assist with sales support and project costing
* Advise during bid stages on solutions
* Maintain professional relationships with customers
* Mentor junior engineers as needed
* Attend project meetings
* Act as main contact during project implementation
* Support engineering and development teams
* Produce project documentation per QA procedures
THE PERSON
* Full UK driving license
* Electronics background or engineering qualification
* Understanding of PCB wiring and hardware
* Knowledge of Windows Server, Desktop, and networking
* Experience with SQL Server and firewalls is advantageous
* Knowledge of data systems; soldering skills are a plus
* Good communication and diagnostic skills
* Team player and independent worker
* Comfortable working remotely via MS Teams
* Professional appearance and communication skills
* Willingness to travel locally and internationally
