An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) Nurse Specialist to join the award-winning, innovative North Yorkshire Community Infection Prevention and Control Team (IPCT). The team is dynamic with a proactive approach to infection prevention and control. The post holder will be an active member of the team with a focus on producing high quality IPC resources working closely with the team’s Educational Resource Specialist.
Responsibilities
* Produce high quality IPC resources such as work books, posters, and policies in close collaboration with the Education Resource Specialist.
* Provide advisory and clinical input to facilitate continuous improvement of infection prevention and control (IPC) care for patients in the community.
* Contribute to marketing meetings with the IPCT team.
* Provide specialist clinical advice, support, and counselling for patients, relatives, and the general public on community IPC issues. Offer guidance on IPC practices including outbreak management, investigate healthcare‑associated infections (including C. difficile, PVL, MRSA), and supply nursing advice to patients with alert organisms. Use assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation skills to deliver individualized care, establish effective partnerships with patients and families, act as an advocate, and provide evidence‑based patient care. Recognize, investigate, and resolve HCAI issues.
* Work 22.5 hours per week.
