You'll be responsible for carrying out golf course maintenance duties, as directed. Work involves a variety of duties to manage and maintain the golf course, ensuring that it is presented in the best possible condition at all times, whilst adhering to the rules and regulations established for the operation.

What does this role involve day to day?
1. Cutting all playing surfaces, change holes, setting up golf course for play, preparing bunkers, any spraying that is required; ensuring that the course is presented in the best possible condition to exceed the expectations of guests and visitors at all times
2. Construction, Aeration and turfing works
3. Understand the companies policies on health and safety and to ensure that all duties performed are carried out with full regard to the safety of the customers, visitors, contractors and other employees; work within the health and safety, COSHH, Risk Assessment and SOP guidelines at all times
4. Ensure and supervise the operation and safe handling of all machinery and equipment used by the greenkeeping staff
5. Competency in the efficient and effective operation and safe handling of all chemicals used by greenkeeping staff
6. Accept training and instruction to further skill set and personal development
7. Responsible for the care of machinery and the reporting of loss or damage to Equipment Manager
8. Supervise small projects and seasonal greenkeepers
9. Ensure that care is taken at all times to prevent any long term damage to the turf/golf course
10. Participates in the propagation of grass and other plants
11. Any required task to contribute to the workflow and smooth running of the department/organisation.
This will be suited to you if...
12. You have knowledge of recreational operations and maintenance work
13. You have knowledge of the methods used in the care and maintenance of golf courses.
14. You have knowledge of the care and maintenance of grass greens
15. You have knowledge of the uses and operating methods of the equipment and tools used in golf course maintenance
16. You have knowledge of turf diseases and the methods and chemicals used to control them
17. You possess good interpersonal skills in order to communicate effectively
18. You maintain a positive attitude in all work-related circumstances
19. SVQ/NVQ level 2 in sports turf maintenance or equivalent
20. Minimum of 1 year experience in an assistant greenkeeping position
21. PA1 & PA6 Certification favourable
22. First Aid Certification favourable
23. Must hold full UK driving license
